And the results are in

Ok, here is the update!
They did the hysterectomy on Monday,the 10th, I was released from the hospital on Wednesday, the 12th! Came home, feeling sore and tired but otherwise OK! The next day Dalton stayed home from school with me and I was under strict instructions to rest, which I did! I was in pain so I was taking the prescription medication that the doctor gave me, which in turn made me sleep most of the day away! At about 5 that day my niece stopped to check on me. When she left she kissed me on the forehead and noticed I had a fever. Doctors instructions were..... over 101, we should call the doctor. Well throughout the night on Thursday the fever progressed, climbing higher and higher until I checked at about 2 in the morning and it was 101.8. I was in serious pain, so bad that the prescription was not helping. Finally at 5:30 am, I woke Bill up and told him that he needed to help me, I didn't know how he could help or what to do... but something was NOT right.
Now, for those of you who don't know me or my family, this may not seem like a big deal. But for me to admit that something is wrong, let alone ask for help..... THE WORLD SHOULD HAVE STOPPED!
So, by this point, I was going downhill fast. Bill called his sister, who is a nurse and is always the go to in times of question. She said call the on call doctor on the hospital form. Bill called, the doctors instructions were..... take me to the ER! Ha Ha. After my insistent NO, he gave up. I told him I was not going to the ER and sitting there for several hours. At 8 Bill called my doctors office, they said to bring me to the office at 9 and they would do x-rays and blood work and I could see the doctor. Went to the office, which by this time, I could barely walk on my own or keep my eyes open and head up as I was so weak, and they did x-rays. We went upstairs to my doctors office and the next thing I know I am back in the car and off to the ER we go. The next few hours were blurry. I remember getting more x-rays and the nurse coming into take blood and start an IV. They could not find a vein, I have my father to thank for that, so the nurse decided to start an IV port and take blood from that same vein before starting the IV. I heard her say OMG, her blood is barley dripping in the vile, drip, drip, drip, to my husband. Another nurse came into to take more blood for another culture and they couldn't find a vein, of course, after trying twice! Oh, have I mentioned that I HATE NEEDLES! Like make me want to puke! So the nurse said that they were going to send IV therapy up to try and get the other culture.
I looked Bill right in the eyes, which took about all the energy I had and said " NO MORE NEEDLES, take me home now, I don't want to do this anymore" And I meant it, I was done fighting, I didn't want to be sick and certainly did not want to be at the hospital any longer.
The nurse who started my IV and was with me for the first few hours in the ER came back in the room and I said, I don't want anymore blood work! She said, sweety, they aren't gonna find another vein on you to take blood from until we get you hydrated.
I didn't understand what she meant at the time. The next day my doctor came to check on me and told me that the fever was due to a major infection and severe dehydration. Which was why my veins were heard to find and why my blood was running so slow. Many IV solutions and antibiotics and on Monday they released me from the hospital. As a matter of fact, on Sunday I told Bill "you better be here at 9:30 in the morning because I am out of here tomorrow" Needless to say the doctor didn't show up until 10:30! She asked how I was and I very boldly said " I am going home today" She sort of giggled and said OK! From the time she released me to the time the wheelchair was there to give me a ride downstairs was about 15 minutes. Yep, just that fast, they had my IV out and I was in my own clothes and was on my way home. Two very strong prescription antibiotics and plenty of fluids and rest were on order for the next couple weeks.
I did good, rested, plenty of fluids (wasn't making the mistake of getting dehydrated again!!!!) and took my prescriptions just like the doctor ordered. I had my checkup on the 27th and she said I was recovering beautifully! I even talked her into letting me go back to work, well she said 4 hours a day until the 21st, then I can go back full time. But hey.... as much of a workaholic as I am...... I'll take what I can get. So I went back to work on Monday, rested on Tuesday and worked today. I could seriously get used to only working 4 hours a day.... it is kind of nice. But I seriously missed everyone from work. They are family. We spend most of our time with co-workers and I work for such an awesome company with fantastic co-workers, my heart missed so many of them so much, that I just couldn't wait to get back.

I will be checking on everyone shortly.... just getting back in the swing of things!

~~~~~HAPPY NEW YEAR~~~~~
