Worship Time

Ok, I have to admit, I am slacking. I know it, I feel it, and I want to change it. I am a multi-tasker, I have three children, a full-time job, one dog, and one cat. Not that the dog and cat take up a lot of time, but they need to feel love too. So I am asking for advice, where do I fit in more worship time. I pray when I first wake up, you know, before getting vertical. I pray in the shower, I pray on the way to work, on the way home from work, any time I am in the car. It is just not enough for me. Any suggestions.

No advice.....my daughter has 2 little ones and struggles with and through the same things...I listen to her....and we talk about her listening to Him, perhaps recognizing times that could be used for connecting....but it is so individual and the only guarantee is He gives us everything we need we just have to grab ahold of THAT....don't beat yourself up about it but also yield to the feeling of missing Him....

I would shake it up a little. Do something different in your worship time that you do have. Get vertical and on your knees to pray? Shout out to God in your car or whisper? Try listening to some new Christian music, there is tons out there. Find a way to worship with your kids by telling them about God. I hear witnessing to people is pretty intense but I am too weak to do that yet. Be extra nice to someone.

I would second the music - it works for me - Rich Mullins being my favorite; Oswald Chambers ( I think) tried to be in constant prayer - to think of God when he did anything - and in that thought, worshiping and acknowledging Him. Always thought it was a good idea. I have this kind of ongoign dialogue throughout the day - though it certainly wouldn't constitute traditional praying - it works for me.

Sarah...is there a healthy group for you to "plug into"...women's Bible study with childcare or something similar?

I agree with Becky - DO NOT beat yourself up and yield...God is with you always...everywhere...and who doesn't pray in the shower!?

And I like the Christian music suggestions. Maybe try Adam Watts. There is a link to his website on my page and they play a few of his songs, full length...don't even have to buy the cd..FREE!!!

Praying for you...

Every time you think of God and say "help me" or "thank you" or "I love you" is a prayer.
