Remembering and blessed!

I remember moving to our new home town, not knowing but a couple of people and being scared of making new friends. Just as though I was one of the kids. We moved in February so mid school year for the kids. On Tyler and Blake's first day, I took them to school, the principal met me at the front door, knew the kids' names and took us through the school together. The women who worked in the lunch room knew the boys' names (WOW), the secretary, the helpers, everyone already welcoming them with open arms. I remember that Tyler was escorted to his class first, I met the teacher and left my oldest in her care. Then Blake (who everyone in the class thought was going to be a girl, he he) met the teacher and she asked the class where Blake could sit. This toe headed boy threw his arm up and said "RIGHT HERE!" They have been best friends since that day. Inseperable, Danny at my house or Blake at his house.

And soon after that day, his mom came to my house with open arms, welcoming us to our new town. She and I were inseperable too. She and I had so much in common, only she was twice the mom that I could ever think of being. She was ALL about her children. A true inspiration. She cooked things that were wonderful. Especially rice crispy treats and monster cookies!

Her youngest son and I developed a bond that I can not explain. He is younger than Blake and Danny but older than Dalton, so he always comes to the house to "hang out" with me. He gives the best bear hug you have ever gotten and is just full of love.

Here is a picture of our five boys last summer, just months before Nancy was diagnosed with a cancer that would take her life. She went to Heaven yesterday morning! Tears of sorrow flow from my heart as I long to see her, and miss her so.

She would kill me for posting this picture of her, but in true best friend fashion, I had to. This is her oldest son, Paris and Nancy eating her TOWN FAMOUS rice crispy treats, which she made in red, white and blue for the 4th of July last year. I love her, she has made a huge impact on my outlook of tomorrow and how we may never get that.

Nancy

Cancer sucks!

Watching her fight for every breath, knowing that within a week she won't be here, and all the lives that she has touched will miss her greatly, just sucks :(
She is an awesome mother, sister, daughter, and friend!!!!
